Doctoral Research

My doctoral studies include the research on magnetic fluid based rotary shaft seal. The goal is to develop the magnetic fluid seal which can overcome the limitation of the temperature rise and which is compact in size. To achieve this goal we have adapted the finite elemental method to optimize the seal components and designed three different rotary shaft seal. Which is analyzed in different working conditions and tested successfully for DN=100,000 under vacuum environment.

We have also developed the universal python script and automated the finite elemental analysis process, which give optimized parameters at the end of the program run for any dimension of shaft.

We have an active collaboration with the vacuum service provider company Plasma and Vacuum Technologies-PLASVAC, Ahmedabad.

My research also include the synthesis of magnetic fluid using state of the art in-house magnetic fluid high throughput plant with different oils as a carrier fluid.

It includes Structural and Magnetic characterization of self prepared magnetic nano-particles and magnetic fluids.
